This single-day class focuses on mastering the fundamentals of shooting the AR-15 carbine. We will cover rifle mount, stance, confirmation levels, and trigger control and learn how to find the perfect balance of speed and accuracy for any given shooting problem. In the second half of the class we will focus on problem solving with the rifle. We will look at problems with high levels of accuracy, stability, and movement requirements! Come prepared for a very full day of shooting and learning!

Understanding grip, rifle mount, and stance
Mastering sight management and trigger control
Understanding offsets and holds
Proper recoil management
Visual “confirmation levels” (learning various aiming schemes)
Practical accuracy from 5 to 50+ yards
Target transitions
Movement principles and drills
REFUND POLICY: Refunds will only be given if Gateway Defense has to cancel a class. No refund will be given due to a student being unable to attend. A full class credit will be issued for a future Gateway Defense class by notifying brennan@gateway-defense.com no less than 14 days prior to the class date.

A modern, reliable, semi-automatic rifle chambered in .223/.556, .300 BLK, 7.62x39, etc.

At least 3-4 standard capacity magazines.

An adjustable, 2-point sling.

A sturdy gun belt (concealed carry belt or battle belt/competition belt style).

Minimum of 1 magazine carrier (battle belt or chest rig) with the ability to carry 2-3 magazines on your person.
