In Dynamic Pistol, we will do a deep dive into the fundamentals of speed and accuracy and then learn how to apply those skills to more complex shooting problems.
This class was developed specifically for law enforcement officers in mind. All too often we see law enforcement training simply catering to the lowest common denominator instead of working to explore what is possible and raise the standard! Our goal at Gateway Defense is to help LEO’s develop the hard skills required to shoot fast and accurate as well as increase their ability to process information quickly! We believe that this will allow officers to problem-solve quickly and clearly. Reject the stereotypes that cops can't shoot, and come push yourself to get better and be a part of the change you want to see!
Topics Covered
The fundamentals of grip, sight management, and trigger control
Stance, recoil management, and faster splits
Practical accuracy from 5 yards 25 yards +
Visual confirmation levels: identifying and applying the correct sighting solution for targets of any given size/distance
OWB draw: consistently finding the dot on the draw, and applying efficiency principles to execute the infamous “scoop” draw on both competition and level 1 retention holsters
Target transitions: targets at varying distances and sizes, close and wide transitions
Movement: entries and exits, blending positions, shooting on the move
Hit Factor scoring: how to utilize HF to properly measure both speed and accuracy and strike the best balance of both
NOTE: while beginner shooters will definitely benefit from this class, this SHOULD NOT be your first training class. Students will be required to have comprehensive understanding of gun safety, be able to work out of a holster safely, and be able to hit an A-zone or 8” circle on demand from 10 yards with no time limit.
REFUND POLICY: Refunds will only be given if Gateway Defense has to cancel a class. No refund will be given due to a student being unable to attend. A full class credit will be issued for a future Gateway Defense class by notifying brennan@gateway-defense.com no less than 14 days prior to the class date.
